Shots homework for Wed

Take a scene from a film you love.

take screen shots.
write up what kind of shot each is and how it tells us stuff about the character(s) setting, the story as a whole.

ten shots will do nicely.

Extreme close-up. tells us about the man as we discussed in class
close-up. man in different setting as indicated by change in colour/lighting, but still in the other place as indicated in the eyes. Does the dead center shot mean he is weak/uncertain?
Close up. the positioning and more light link in with the ironic smile to indicate the character fully in his setting now.
extreme long shot. The crane shot is panning over the setting to give us a full sense of where we are. (note colour again)
POV close-up shot. We see how the men respond to the main character.
medium shot, two shot. we see the character bonding.
long shot. character in context/setting. He is among them/of them, not apart (like the emperor)
